APRIL: April 28th. Chaga walk with Paul. Meet at Terri's house (860-870-1681) in Vernon at 10:00
MAY: May 6th, Native Ephemeral Pilgrimage walk on the Henry Buck Trail at People's Forest in Barkhamsted. 10:00-2:00.
Meet at the Steel Bridge Parking lot on the corner of 318 and East River Rd. We will carpool to the base of the trail. Wear sturdy shoes. There will be some climbing involved so if you need to not go all the way there will still space for you. Please bring a bagged lunch and finger foods to hare if you choose. MAY: May 16th, 6:00 Conifers: How they are useful to our health. This will be a joint effort with club members. How to make vinegars, salves, teas, oxymels and more from local conifers. Meet at Terri's House in Vernon. Please bring a dish to share as well as your creations and conifer information. JUNE: Garden Party JUne 27th 6:00 Terry will once again host our annual Garden Party. CHA members and friends are welcome to join and enjoy Terri’s lovely gardens. JULY: Plant Paddle: July 15th 10:00 on the Scantic River in Somers. Bring your Canoes and Kayaks, let me know if you have an extra one to share, and if you need one. I have an extra canoe, needs 2 people and I will need help with on and off the car. We will begin the paddle at 10:00 at the parking lot behind the Village Playhouse , 55 School St, Somers CT. Come early enough to have the boats in the water by 10. It's easy to put in and take out, but 1 car at a time. There is also a gazebo along with a couple of picnic tables and a porta potty. We will see plenty of plants, turtles, frogs, and birds. It is a winding, meandering very shallow river. Don't forget your bug spray and sunblock. We will follow with a bagged lunch..
